2D-art and design

How can i change the viewer's perspective of my art as they view it more closely?

I was initially inspired by the unassuming beauty of mold in Petri dishes.  The inherit beauty of mold, to me, is obvious, but many other people do not immediately perceive it as beautiful. The basis of my investigation was to change the perspective of the viewer so they could appreciate the depth of a subject matter by peering deeper into it. At the beginning of my investigation, I explored the idea of using parts that are seemingly insignificant on their own-much like the mold I first studied-to represent a larger, significant whole. Later in my portfolio, I developed the concept of being unable to register the details of a piece without viewing it up close, and that the details would be just as significant as the whole they represented.  I also began to experiment with the relationship between light and the media I used to make art. I noticed that when I used transparencies, the details were only apparent when a light was shone through them. My last two pieces are a culmination of the use of light and tiny, unintelligible details to add depth to an otherwise one-dimensional piece of art.
