The inquiry for my sustained investigation is to fully understand individuality in order to "exhibit individuals as a personal piece of artwork." My first step to this understanding was to step out of my comfort zone and interact with strangers for a photo shoot at a local mall. As I took their photos, we talked about school, work and goals. I made it my priority to meet new and different people to broadcast all varieties of individuality. Everyone has a uniqueness inside of them and a story to tell, that makes them who they are. By embracing my practice of collage work, paper experimentation, layering, and creating dimension, I wanted to incorporate each individual's uniqueness visually. At the end of my sustained investigation I decided to dig into my own individuality. My last piece I created, is inspired by myself and what makes me unique. Overall, my sustained investigation has taught me not only new artistic skills and advances, but most importantly that individuality comes in all shapes, sizes, races, genders, and styles. All in which, deserve to be exhibited and appreciated.
